Lilagh.
Lilagh is a collaborative collection designed with fellow designer Alexandra O’Donovan. Its name—a fusion of our first names with an Irish-inspired flourish. The collection presents six distinctive womenswear looks that move beyond seasonal trends, exploring the transition from girlhood to womanhood. Each piece reflects a tapestry of our shared and individual experiences, interpreting femininity through texture, form, and emotion.
During the design process, we examined the ways in which women express and perceive their femininity, with a particular focus on hair as a form of self-expression. Drawn to the playful elegance of rollers and curls, we incorporated this motif throughout the collection, visible in the curved hems and the detailing at waistbands, subtly weaving the theme of movement, shape, and personal style into each garment..

In early June, we began developing our debut collection, which we unveiled with a private runway presentation at Fíon Eile Wine Bar in Phibsborough as part of Dublin Independent Fashion Week. The show concluded with a reading of “Girls”, a poem by Shannon Haly, performed by one of our models as a tribute to the feminine experience that inspired the collection. The poem’s pivotal line — “I don't feel old enough to be a woman, but I’m no longer naïve enough, to still be a girl” — encapsulated the collection’s central theme: the delicate transition from girlhood to womanhood.Guests were invited to participate in the experience, writing personal reflections of femininity on mirrored walls using custom pearl-dripped lipstick cases embossed with our Lilagh logo — a playful nod to the intimacy of girls bonding in club bathrooms.
The collection was later presented at the Tógála Showroom in the Chocolate Factory, where we showcased our designs, sold merchandise, and featured two looks in an evening runway show alongside other emerging Irish designers. We were also honoured to present two additional looks at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Kilmainham as part of the Dublin Independent Fashion Week closing ceremony.
